Shipley collected three hits in five at bats, as Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings defeated Calvary Day School 17-11 on Saturday. Shipley hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, doubled in the second inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings collected 10 hits and Calvary Day School nine in the high-scoring affair.

Calvary Day School jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Woodward drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Newton singled, scoring one run.

Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Firmstone that drove in two.

Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Shipley hit a solo home run, to give Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings the advantage, 7-6.

Calvary Day School took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Kiger doubled down the right field line, Setliff singled down the left field line, Reynolds flew out, and Amrich singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring 10 runs on six hits to take the lead, 17-10. The biggest blows in the inning was a double by Marne that drove in two and a Homerun by Smithnosky that drove in two.

Grieff began the game for Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings. The starter surrendered five hits and five runs (two earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking four. Hart and Dewitt each appeared in relief for Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings.

Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings amassed 10 hits in the game. Urban, Marne, and Smithnosky each drove in three runs for Mt. Pleasant Varsity Vikings. Mt.
